In my many years of writing about the Dallas Cowboys, a favorite annual exercise is projecting the 53-man roster throughout the offseason. The start of training camp is a key touchpoint; all of that offseason work getting tossed in a blender and seeing what comes out on the other side.
2024 has presented a different flavor of talent acquisition from what we’re used to as Dallas took a minimalist approach. With Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb in contract talks, and QB1’s situation being the real issue in terms of bogging down spending, the Cowboys allowed a lot of talent to depart and responded with a disproportionate amount of new arrivals.
