The Dallas Cowboys are currently sitting at 4-9 on the season, and although they’re not mathematically eliminated, reaching the postseason seems like the longest of long shots.

This has many fans looking ahead to the offseason, with events like the draft and scouting combine becoming major TV events, it’s easy to forget about free agency.

While a team’s main goal should be to draft and develop their own talent, some teams feel the need to open up the checkbook to sign a player coming off a massive season, a move that usually doesn’t pan out (looking at you DeMarco Murray).
