ARLINGTON, Texas – With 2:55 to play Thursday, Jameill Showers had everything he wanted.
The Dallas Cowboys trailed by four points and were 95 yards away from a potential winning touchdown against the Houston Texans.
“Go ahead and take the team down and be the hero,” Showers said of his mindset as he entered the huddle. “That’s what everybody wants. Didn’t work out that way.”
On the first play, he was nearly dropped for a safety, but after a replay review it was just a 4-yard sack and he was 99½ yards away from a game-winning touchdown.
