Babe Laufenberg: On the day Cole Beasley walked out of camp; best Jerry Jones story

Former Dallas Cowboys quarterback and current radio color commentator Babe Laufenberg spoke with SportsDayDFW.com about various topics:

We just did a story called 10 things you might not know about Jerry Jones. What’s your favorite Jerry Jones story?

He’s the first owner who actually knew my name. I came to the Cowboys the same year Jerry bought the team in 1989. Jerry was personable, just like he is today. He got to know the players. I remember as a rookie with Washington (in 1983), I was checking into the team hotel the night before the game and the front desk hands me the phone and says it’s (owner) Jack Kent Cooke.
