Cowboys linebacker Rolando McClain’s attorneys filed a motion in an Alabama county court to have two misdemeanor charges stemming from a 2013 arrest dismissed.
Last July, McClain was sentenced to 18 days in jail after he was found guilty of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
After police were dispatched to break up a fight in McClain’s hometown of Decatur, Ala., in April 2013, McClain was accused of yelling, “(Expletive) the police!” He then allegedly struggled against the officer’s grip on his arm.
McClain’s attorneys immediately appealed the verdict and a trial is scheduled to take place May 18 in Morgan County Circuit Court.
