Arbitrator explains why he upheld Ezekiel Elliott's six-game suspension, where NFL investigated 'meticulously'

Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott's legal team filed new documents following yesterday's hearing in the U.S. District Court of Eastern Texas that included Elliott, the NFL Players Association and the league's legal representation itself.

Among the documents: Arbitrator Harold Henderson's ruling to uphold Elliott's six-game suspension, complete with Henderson's eight-page letter to NFLPA lawyer Jeffrey Kessler and NFL attorney Dan Nash outlining his reasoning.

Among Henderson's key points: NFL investigators Kia Roberts and Lisa Friel were surprised commissioner Roger Goodell didn't ask them to make a recommendation on the league's discipline but the collective bargaining agreement allowed for the process as Goodell carried it out.
