As the new league year approaches, the Dallas Cowboys aren’t in a position where there is an urgent need to create a significant amount of cap space, but they do need to create a bit of space to cover cap costs that will arrive in the coming months. In addition, they also need to account for the newly signed four-year, $80M contract of Osa Odighizuwa.

There are a handful of players whose release could free up space, but the reality is that most of the players whose release would free up a few million dollars would simultaneously create a hole on the roster that would cost a few million dollars or a draft pick to patch.
