IRVING, Texas -- The NFL will play its conference championship games Sunday, and for the 20th consecutive season the Dallas Cowboys will not be in the NFC title game.
The Cowboys are one of only four NFC teams not to have played in a championship game since their last appearance in the 1995 season, which culminated with a win over the Pittsburgh Steelers in Super Bowl XXX.
Since then, the Cowboys are 162-158 and haven't had consecutive 10-win seasons.
Dallas, however, isn't that far from being one of the NFC’s contenders again, and it should shock no one if the Cowboys are one of the teams contending for a spot in the conference title game next year.
