5 thoughts from Cowboys' win vs. Redskins: Amari Cooper has breakout game; Dallas at its best when Zeke dominates

ARLINGTON -- The Dallas Cowboys are in first place in the NFC East. Three weeks ago, not many thought that sentence would be written this season.

Here are my thoughts on the Cowboys winning their third consecutive game Thursday at AT&T Stadium:

1. So, about that Amari Cooper trade. The star receiver Dallas traded a first-round pick for last month made his biggest contribution against Washington. Cooper had seven catches for 176 yards and two touchdowns in the first three quarters. The Redskins never doubled him, so Dak Prescott took advantage. Dallas' offense badly needed this breakout performance.
