A year and a half ago, Dallas Cowboys defensive end Greg Hardy was arrested and charged with domestic violence against his then-girlfriend, Nicole Holder.
Hardy was a member of the Carolina Panthers at the time and was accused of throwing her on bed covered in guns, choking and threatening her. He was convicted in 2014 during a bench trial, but appealed for a jury trial. The case was thrown out in 2015 after Holder stopped cooperating with authorities. It was expunged yesterday.
Hardy was placed on the Commissioner's Exempt List in mid-September of 2014, and didn't play again during the season. He was suspended for 10 games this season, but won an appeal that lowered the suspension to four games.
Today, Deadspin obtained and released photos showing the injuries Holder sustained during the attack. ESPN reports that the NFL and NFL Players Association saw a few of the photos while considering Hardy's punishment.
Several of the photos are below, while the rest can be found on Deadspin.
Be warned, some of the photos are graphic.
The Cowboys and Hardy have declined comment.
