Earlier this week, Cris Carter came up with the idea that the Dallas Cowboys should trade QB Tony Romo to the Houston Texans for J.J. Watt. Romo is surely going to be playing elsewhere next season and the Texans are a potential landing spot. After Carter's suggestion, the Romo-Watt trade rumor articles were typed up faster than the Colts move to Indianapolis.
So, I decided to create a handy flowchart to help explain how that trade could be completed.
We're all good here now, right?
Romo does make sense for the Texans, but they're sure as hell not going to give up J.J. Watt for him. No general manager would ever trade their best player, and one of the best defensive players in the NFL, for a soon-to-be 37-year-old QB with injury problems.
And if you find yourself thinking about a Romo for Watt trade, or see a friend suggest it, remember the flow chart.
