The Dallas Cowboys have a big need at cornerback this offseason with both Brandon Carr and Morris Claiborne set to become free agents, and they have a chance to get one of the top corners available on the open market.
Houston Texans cornerback A.J. Bouye isn't expected to receive the franchise tag from the team, allowing him to hit the open market. The Texans are interested in bringing him back, but Dallas also may have interest - and Bouye said in a video that he grew up a fan of the Cowboys and loves the team they have now.
"If I watched anybody it was the Cowboys," Bouye said if the video. "And the only reason I say that is my dad is a big Cowboys' fan. After the game he'll have his Texans jersey on, but as soon as we get home he's ready to watch the Cowboys' game, and he's cheering like I play for the Cowboys and I'm like 'man, you ain't right'. But, I have family in Dallas that are Cowboys' fans so my dad's from Waco, TX, so I guess I just was always going for the Cowboys growing up.
"I don't have a problem watching them [now]. The year they had this year with the rookie quarterback [Dak] Prescott and [Ezekiel] Elliott and just what they was able to do from the year before is just amazing. You like to see stuff like that, so you're always going to pull for teams like that who just make a complete turnaround.
"I know my dad was happy. They didn't finish how they wanted to, but...I just like watching football."
Bouye had 63 tackles with one interception and 16 pass breakups last season.
