The Dallas Cowboys are going with only two QBs this week, and possibly for the rest of the season. The team has cut QB Kellen Moore today, clearing the way for Cooper Rush to assume the full-time backup QB duties.
Looks like Cooper Rush has won the backup job for good for the #Cowboys. Kellen Moore was released, TE Blake Jarwin promoted to the 53.

Rush was the No. 2 QB for the Cowboys last week against the 49ers, even getting some playing time in a rout. Rush completed only one pass for 2 yards, but had 13 yards on 2 carries.
Moore had not been active in any games this year. His only regular season playing time came in 2015, when he completed 58.7 percent of his passes for 779 yards and four TDs and 6 INTs. He is eligible for the practice squad, so he could be signed there. Given that Cowboys coaching staff loves Moore (namely his intelligence, since he's almost like another coach on the roster), Moore might not be done with the Cowboys.
TE Blake Jarwin will take Moore's roster spot. Jarwin is a former undrafted free agent from Oklahoma State who was on the team's practice squad. He's the team's fourth active tight end, joining Jason Witten, James Hanna and Geoff Swaim. Rico Gathers remains on injured reserve with a concussion.
