The Dallas Cowboys won't have to worry about defending Packers star wide receiver Jordy Nelson on Sunday, as he has been ruled out for the game with fractured ribs. However, the Cowboys insist that they're defensive gameplan isn't going to change despite Green Bay playing without their best receiver.
“Obviously [Nelson] is a great player, but like we said at the outset of the week we try to focus on ourselves and what we need to do to play our best,” head coach Jason Garrett said. “They have a lot of weapons on that offense. They’ve done a great job through the years getting the ball to a lot of different people who’ve helped them. Our focus is on us and what we need to do to play good defense.”
Cornerback Anthony Brown echoed Garrett's statements.
“Aaron Rodgers can get it done regardless, man,” cornerback Anthony Brown said. “It doesn’t matter if Jordy is on the field or not. We’ve just got to be on our ‘A’ game and be ready for anything they throw at us.”
Nelson suffered the injury in Green Bay's win over the Giants last weekend. He caught 97 passes for 1,257 yards and 14 touchdowns this season, all of which were team highs.
