Rookie quarterback Cooper Rush was promoted to the No. 2 QB for the Cowboys last week against the 49ers, even getting some playing time in a rout. Rush completed only one pass for two yards but had two carries for 13 yards.
Dallas promoted tight end Blake Jarwin from the practice squad to take Moore's position on the active roster. Jarwin is a former undrafted free agent from Oklahoma State who was on the team's practice squad and is the team's fourth tight end on the active roster, joining Jason Witten, James Hanna, and Geoff Swaim. Rico Gathers is still recovering from a concussion.
Moore had not been active in any games this year. His only regular season playing time came in 2015, when he completed 58.7 percent of his passes for 779 yards and four TDs with six interceptions.
