Dallas Cowboys cornerback Nolan Carroll was arrested for suspicion of DWI on Monday afternoon, reports ESPN's Todd Archer.
A Dallas police officer pulled Carroll over after an unspecified traffic violation. Carroll posted bond Monday afternoon after he was booked into Dallas County Jail.
According to a team spokesman, the Cowboys are aware of the situation and gathering information.
Carroll, 30, could be subject to the NFL's personal conduct policy in which a fine or suspension could be levied.
The Cowboys signed Carroll to three-year, $10 million deal this offseason with $4 million guaranteed. They are counting on him to be the team's No. 1 cornerback after Brandon Carr and Morris Claiborne left the team in free agency.
If he is suspended, Dallas will have to rely on their rookies sooner than expected. The Cowboys used their second- and third-round picks on Chidobe Awuzie and Jourdan Lewis, respectively, and each are expected to have significant roles right away.
Carroll is the latest Cowboys player to find himself in trouble this offseason. Defensive lineman David Irving is facing a four-game suspension after failing a drug test, while defensive end Randy Gregory is suspended for at least one year.
Carroll had spent the previous three seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles, recording 55 tackles with an interception and 11 pass breakups in 2016.
