Leighton Vander Esch remains out with a neck injury as he’ll miss his fifth straight game this Sunday for Dallas. At this point it’s pretty safe to assume Vander Esch won’t return this season. How worrisome is his neck long-term? The Cowboys are getting very thin at linebacker as Sean Lee and Joe Thomas are banged up with injuries and have done very little in practice this week. Dallas signed former Super Bowl MVP Malcolm Smith this week to bring some depth to the position.
Cowboys injury news isn’t all bad as Tyron Smith returned to practice today. He’s been dealing with an eye issue, but should be ready to play against the Eagles on Sunday. Michael Bennett practiced today as well after missing practice on Wednesday. Philadelphia has a ton of injuries, so both teams will be less than 100 percent for this week’s matchup.
