Another year, another foot injury for Dallas Cowboys DT Maliek Collins. Ian Rapoport reports that Maliek Collins suffered a broken foot today during the Cowboys' conditioning program.
It's the third foot injury in as many years for Collins, who broke his right foot in OTAs as a rookie and dealt with a left foot injury all season long and had surgery after the year ended.
It's not clear yet which foot has been broken this time, nor how severe the injury is. Collins was a starter for the Cowboys defense, playing both the 3-tech (his natural role) and the 1-tech (because of other injuries).
Collins posted 5 sacks in his rookie year, but was held to just 2.5 in his second season. The foot injury and playing a run-stopping role were the causes behind the decline in production. Dallas is thin at DT, hence their interest in adding Terrell McClain before the injury.
