Dallas Cowboys DL David Irving's rough offseason has become even worse. Irving has been suspended by the NFL for four games for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy.
Last year, Irving was hit with a four-game suspension for PEDs. This time around, it sounds like Irving was docked for some type of non-performance enhancing drug. When Irving's Twitter was hacked by his ex-girlfriend, she claimed he had failed drug tests.
Irving dealt with a false accusation of domestic violence from that same ex-girlfriend earlier this offseason and was held out of Cowboys OTAs because he was overweight. Irving had claimed just yesterday that all his offseason issues were behind him.
"I'm actually a real person. I have family issues, a lot of issues I've been dealing with," Irving told 247Sports. "I can't go into much detail ... just know it's behind me. By the time the season starts I won’t be dealing with any of this BS anymore."
Apparently, that's not the case.
It's not the first time Irving has had issues. Despite immense talent, Irving has not reached his potential. The flashes were there last year, as Irving put up 7 sacks in only 8 games after a suspension to start the year and a concussion to end it.
At a certain point, the Cowboys simply might not want to deal with the headache Irving causes off the field.
