The Dallas Cowboys have cut yet another player this season. This time, the Cowboys released CB Tyler Patmon.
It's a surprising move, as the Cowboys are thin on CB depth. Morris Claiborne went down with a hamstring injury Sunday. The news was first reported by the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
Patmon is just 24 years old and had been with the team for two seasons. He played in 11 games this season, recording 13 tackles. He had a pick-six last season, his only career interception.
That leaves the Cowboys with just Brandon Carr, Byron Jones and Deji Olatoye as the true corners on the roster. Safety Jeff Heath has played some nickel recently.
Patmon signed a three-year deal in 2014, but it had no guaranteed money. That means the Cowboys owe him nothing with his release. The Cowboys have yet to announce who will replace Patmon on the active roster.
