A former seventh round pick, Butler caught 21 passes for 280 yards and two scores last season, his second season in the NFL.
The other WRs on the Cowboys' roster are Devin Street, Terrance Williams, Cole Beasley and Lucky Whitehead. Beasley and Whitehead are both slot receivers. Street, Williams and Butler should get most of the playing time as the outside WRs.

Butler was behind Amari Cooper, Michael Crabtree, Rod Streater and Andre Holmes on the Raiders' depth chart.
The Cowboys gave up a conditional draft pick in the trade. If Butler is on the roster for six games this season, the Cowboys will swap a fifth round pick for the Raiders' sixth in 2016.
