Cowboys QB Tony Romo will miss the rest of the season with a back injury, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Romo underwent an MRI on Monday that revealed the severity of the injury. Romo mentioned the MRI after Sunday's win over the Washington Redskins, but at that time had no idea the scan could reveal a serious injury.
The Cowboys face the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday night with a playoff spot on the line. Backup Kyle Orton is expected to start in Romo's place - Orton last played against the Chicago Bears on 12/9, going 3/5 for 40 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions.
Cowboys QB Tony Romo has been ruled out the rest of the season due to his back injury, per league source.
