In this Cowboys news update, the St. Louis Rams' defense has one major task in mind when it comes to their matchup with the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday - stopping DeMarco Murray.
Murray currently leads the NFL with 285 yards rushing and is second with a 5.6 yard-per-carry average. But it's his last two performances against the Rams (428 rushing yards in two Cowboys victories) that have St. Louis zeroing in on the Dallas running back.
"It hurts your pride a lot," Rams LB James Laurinaitis said, via an Associated Press report. "He's gotten so many yards on defenses you've been a part of, and you see what he's done this year as well."
Murray isn't as focused on the past, as it's irrelevant to him for a number of reasons.
"Honestly, I can't remember," Murray stated. "I don't look at those games because there's a lot of new guys on the team. A similar defense, but I'm not looking at those games."
Either way, the Rams will throw the house at Murray in an attempt to force the Cowboys into third-and-longs. Whether they will succeed or not is a wait-and-see proposition.
