Dallas and Green Bay traded punches in a back-and-forth first half that ended with the Cowboys taking a 14-10 lead into the break. The Packers responded with a strong second half and scored 14 unanswered points to close the game as they pulled off the dramatic comeback victory.
Turning Point:
With the Packers leading 26-21 with just under five minutes left in the fourth quarter, Dallas went for it on fourth down and appeared to complete a HUGE pass to Dez Bryant that would have put them just outside the goal line. However, the play was reversed when it was determined Bryant lost possession of the ball while stretching for the end zone, giving the ball back to the Packers.
Green Bay MVP:
Aaron Rodgers looked a lot like his usual self despite playing with a slight tear in his left calf, passing for 317 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions. His favorite target today was rookie wideout Devante Adams, who caught seven passes for 117 yards and a touchdown.
Dallas MVP:
Running back DeMarco Murray carried the Cowboys in this one - just like he did all season - rushing for 123 yards and a touchdown.
Stat of the Day:
Green Bay was able to stay on the field and convert numerous long drives into touchdowns by converting nine of their 13 third-down attempts, including a pass to Randall Cobb with under two minutes to play that sealed the win.
What’s Next?
Green Bay will travel to Seattle to face the Seahawks in the NFC Championship Game, while Dallas ends their season in disappointing fashion despite winning their first playoff game since 2009 in the Wild Card round. The Cowboys now have to decide what they want to with Murray and Bryant, both of whom are free agents.
