Cowboys Rumors Roundup: DeMarco Murray Favors Return To Dallas

The Dallas Cowboys are letting DeMarco Murray hit the free agent market, but the All-Pro running back wants to return to the Cowboys - for the right price - according to ESPN:

NFL rushing champion DeMarco Murray would likely return to the Dallas Cowboys if the team's offer is equal or financially similar to those he receives from other teams as an unrestricted free agent, league sources told ESPN NFL Insider Ed Werder on Tuesday.

With quality teams potentially looking for a starting running back, Murray is expecting a "vigorous" free-agent market.

Dallas offered Murray a four-year, $16 million deal last month, but his agent quickly turned it down. He made $1.4 million last season - only a fraction of the $12.75 million that Minnesota's Adrian Peterson, the NFL's highest-paid running back, made last year.

Murray isn't necessarily looking for a deal in that neighborhood, but he is expecting a hefty pay raise.

COWBOYS SIGN WR COLE BEASLEY TO FOUR-YEAR DEAL

The Dallas Cowboys did sign slot receiver Cole Beasley to a four-year deal worth $13.6 million, according to the Dallas Morning News. The deal includes $7 million in guaranteed money, including a $7 million signing bonus.

“He’s a really interesting player,” head coach Jason Garrett said in January. “He’s got a lot of unique skills, he’s a hard matchup for guys, he’s hard to cover in man, he’s hard to cover in zone. More than anything else, his mentality is really good. He’s got great confidence in himself, he’s got a really good feel for playing the game, and I think he understands that some how, some way he’s going to present himself to the quarterback and be open. I think that instills a lot of confidence in the quarterback to throw it to him. We’ve known about who he is for a long time, he’s a damn good player.”

Beasley had 37 catches for 420 yards and four touchdowns in 2014.
