The Dallas Cowboys have signed former Carolina Panthers defensive end Greg Hardy to a one-year deal worth $11.3 million, according to ProFootballTalk.
He was deciding between the Cowboys and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but the Bucs have reportedly dropped out of talks with Hardy.
Hardy spent all but one game last season on the Commissioner's Exempt List while he appealed his domestic violence conviction. The appeal never went to trial as Hardy and his accuser agreed to a settlement outside of court.
He is expected to be taken off the list once a team signs him, and NFL commissioner Roger Goodell will determine a suspension for him.
Hardy has the ability to really help the Cowboys on the field. He racked up 15 sacks and 59 tackles for the Panthers in 2013, giving a boost to a Dallas team that ranked among the bottom five teams in the league in sacks last season.
