The land of Cowboys rumors is bracing itself for a huge upcoming decision, as the Dallas Cowboys have contacted one of their most-tenured, and biggest-named veterans about a potential pay cut.
According to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, the Dallas Cowboys have finally contacted defensive end DeMarcus Ware, informing Ware that they want to retain him...at a discount--
The #Cowboys contacted DeMarcus Ware today to let him know they definitely wanted to keep him. But not at $13M per year. Decision time.

DeMarcus Ware is on the books for $52 million dollars over the next two four years and carries a whopping salary cap hit of over $16 million for the Dallas Cowboys in 2014. That cap hit grows to $17.5 million in 2015.
At 32-years-old, many believe that Ware is slowing down from the pace which has propelled him to seven Pro Bowls over the course of his nine-year career.
However, the Dallas Cowboys do still see value in a player who, just a couple season prior, was viewed as one of, if not the best, defensive ends in the game. Retaining Ware at a pay cut, along with restructuring deals with veterans such as starting quarterback Tony Romo, could be just enough to help the Dallas Cowboys trim the $20 million necessary to fall below the 2014 NFL salary cap--which falls at just around $133 million.
This batch of Cowboys rumors doesn't look to have a definite end in sight as of yet, and Chat Sports will keep you posted as things develop.
