In Cowboys rumors tonight, one noted Dallas Cowboys analyst does not think that the Cowboys will be giving recently incarcerated nose tackle Josh Brent another chance with the team during the 2014 NFL season.
In a mailbag for the Dallas Morning News, Tim Cowlishaw was asked whether he thought Brent would be back with the Cowboys after he serves his 180-day jail sentence for intoxication manslaughter stemming from a December 2012 car accident:
"My guess -- and that's all it is -- is no. He has not played football in a long time. But if the Cowboys don't get what they want in the draft and still feel like they are awfully thin in the D-line, it's clearly possible."
The Dallas Cowboys, despite work in free agency, having been looking toward the 2014 NFL Draft as a possible solution to adding to their depth on the defensive line. Yet, if their targets in the draft are picked up prior to the Dallas Cowboys being on the clock, do not be surprised if Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and head coach Jason Garrett give Brent one more shot.
