The Dallas Cowboys are looking into former St. Louis Rams DE Michael Sam, with a view to signing the rookie to their practice squad.

Sam, the first openly gay player drafted into the NFL, was cut by the Rams as they reduced their roster to 53 last week. In four preseason games with St. Louis, Sam racked up 10 tackles and three sacks. According to ESPN's latest report, the Cowboys will sign Sam to their practice squad as soon as he passes a physical - scheduled for Wednesday.
