To ensure they had four cornerbacks on the field for Sunday's NFC East showdown with the New York Giants, the Dallas Cowboys called up Micah Pellerin off the practice squad on Saturday.
In a corresponding move, the Cowboys released defensive tackle Davon Coleman to make room on the 53-man roster.
According to Todd Archer of ESPN Dallas, "with Tyler Patmon out of Sunday’s game against the New York Giants with a knee injury, the Cowboys needed to add Pellerin to have a fourth cornerback on the roster. He joins Orlando Scandrick, Brandon Carr and Sterling Moore. Patmon could miss up to two more games with his knee injury."
Coleman started the team's season opener and played in the first two games before injuring his knee/calf and missing two games. He had been held out as inactive for the past eight games. Should he clear waivers, there is still a possibility he could be brought back to the practice squad.
