The Dallas Cowboys are getting younger on both offense and defense despite many 'the sky is falling' critics who believe the team's salary cap situation is dire.
However, there are a few financial roadblocks to be had, with the Dallas Morning News' Jon Machota listing the fourth year of cornerback Brandon Carr's five-year, $50 million deal signed back in 2012 as the team's "most unfavorable contract" situation heading into 2015.

"Carr hasn’t been the shutdown corner the Cowboys were expecting when they signed him before the 2012 season," Machota wrote. "Scheme and personnel changes have played a factor, but it’s unlikely that he’ll be back next season without taking a pay cut. Carr started all 16 games in 2014, recording no interceptions and eight pass deflections."
Carr is due $8 million in base salary in 2015 despite limited production, but Jerry Jones isn't willing to write him off yet despite the cost.
“Carr played well this year and I’m not as critical of Carr as others,” Jones said. “But that’s a lot of money. One thing that we just got to do is we’ve got to make sure that every way we can, we get the value for the money.”
Carr was #1 on a list that included LB Sean Lee at #3 and CB Morris Claiborne at #2.
