The 2017 NFL schedule is out and the Dallas Cowboys have a tough road ahead of them in their quest to return to the NFL Playoffs next season. The team knows which games will be the toughest, but which ones set up as games the Cowboys will feel confident in winning? "Easiest" is always a relative term in the parity-driven NFL, but here are the five easiest games on the Cowboys 2017 schedule.
5. at Arizona Cardinals (Week 3)
As mentioned above "easy" is a relative term. The Cardinals had the best 2016 record of any team on this list, but it's still better than anyone we left (excluding the Eagles, who only made it once). Arizona is a solid team, but after a 7-8-1 season, they might be on the decline. So, they get the nod over teams like the Redskins, Broncos and Eagles. Those were the only other non-playoff teams on the schedule for Dallas. This is a Monday night game.

4. vs. Los Angeles Chargers (Week 12)
After an injury-laden 2016, the Chargers were just 5-11 last year. Assuming everyone doesn't get hurt again, they'll be a much better team. But they still make the list given the rest of the teams the Cowboys play. It's a new regime in Los Angeles, so it might take some time for everyone to gel. In what might actually end up benefitting the Cowboys (and it's why this game is No. 4 and No. 3), it's a Thursday night home game.

3. vs. Philadelphia Eagles (Week 11)
This game opens a three-game home stand for the Cowboys. The Eagles were just 7-9 last year, but they'll be a better team in 2017. That might not result in more wins in a really good NFC East, but the Eagles have upgraded their roster. Still, this is one of the five easiest games for the Cowboys and one they should win. The budding Dak Prescott vs. Carson Wentz battle is still a little bit away from being the battle for the NFC East.
2. vs. Los Angeles Rams (Week 4)
The Rams were awful last year, going just 4-12. Jared Goff looked lost in his first year, due in part to the poor handling and support he received. Sean McVay is a gifted young coach and Wade Phillips is still one of the best defensive coordinators in the NFL, but they aren't getting the Rams back to the playoffs right away. An early season home game makes this one of the top two, which is a major separator of this list.

1. at San Francisco 49ers (Week 7)
The 49ers are blowing things up this year, which isn't a bad idea given how quickly they've fallen from the NFL's elite. They should be better than last year's 2-14 mark, but this has the making of one of the worst teams in the NFL. Although it's a road game, it comes right after the Cowboys bye. If the Cowboys lose this game, something has gone really wrong for Dallas.
