The Dallas Cowboys surprisingly hold the No. 4 overall pick in the NFL Draft after a down season that was ruined by injuries. However, it also gives them the chance to add some major contributors that can make an immediate impact in some of their weaker areas. Here are four positions of need the Cowboys need to address in the draft:
4) Running back
Darren McFadden was a solid addition for Dallas last year, but their running game suffered dramatically without DeMarco Murray. They're drafting to high to take a running back in the first round, yet drafting a talented runner in the second or third round makes a lot of sense. Alabama's Derrick Henry is someone that comes to mind.
3) Linebacker
Sean Lee is great, but is injured way too often. Rolando McClain is a good player as well, but outside of those two, it's unclear if there are any worthwhile options on the team. Anthony Hitchens is still young, but he wasn't great at all last year. Spending a high pick on the right linebacker is an option.
2) Quarterback
We all saw what happened when Romo went down. The offense was a complete disaster with Brandon Weeden, Matt Cassel and Kellen Moore, making it the clear the team must find a new backup QB because the answer isn't on the roster right now. With Romo already 35 and coming off yet another injury, it's also time to start looking for a new franchise QB. They team could take one in the first round since they are drafting high enough.
1) Cornerback
Brandon Carr and Morris Claiborne have both been relatively big busts in Dalla, and Byron Jones is the only player currently on the roster who looks like a long-term answer at the position. Look for them to target Florida State's Jalen Ramsey - who can play both cornerback and safety - with their first-round pick.
