The 2018 NFL Draft will start in just a few weeks, and there will be plenty of trades. That's just the nature of the draft, although those trades are very difficult to predict. One team that could make some noise is the Dallas Cowboys, as the front office has shown a willingness to wheel and deal for years. With that in mind, here are three trades the Cowboys could make in the NFL Draft.
1) Cowboys trade up with Cardinals
This is a trade that we projected in Chat Sports' latest mock draft. Arizona wants to take a quarterback in the first round, but if all of the top quarterbacks are gone (as expected), they could be looking to trade back from their spot at No. 15. Dallas has major defensive needs at linebacker and safety, and have two top targets in Georgia linebacker Roquan Smith and Florida State safety Derwin James. If one of those two players start to slide, Dallas will surely look to move up a few spots.
2) Cowboys trade up with Dolphins
However, what if the Cowboys are really sold on Smith or James? It certainly wouldn't be a surprise if they traded up even higher to ensure they landed one of the two. Miami is a perfect trade partner in that scenario considering their multitude of needs. They have a rumored desire to take a quarterback, but again, all of the top prospects figure to be gone by No. 11.
If that's indeed the case, Expect them to try to trade down and accumulate picks - and the Cowboys will be there ready to pounce.

3) Cowboys trade down with Patriots
Any move Dallas makes projects to be up in the draft order, but there's always a chance they trade back if the best prospects available on their board will also be available a few picks later. The Patriots are acquiring draft picks and are looking to trade up in the draft, and while they appear to be plotting a big move up to take Baker Mayfield, that price may be too high for them.
Would they be willing to trade up a few spots to take a quarterback like Lamar Jackson or Mason Rudolph? That certainly is not out of the realm of possibility and could net the Cowboys an extra pick.
