The Dallas Cowboys' season completely changed the last time they faced the Philadelphia Eagles. The Cowboys won the game, but lost star QB Tony Romo to a broken collarbone. The Cowboys have lost five straight without Romo and are now 2-5. The Eagles are 3-4 and in the midst of the NFC East race. The Cowboys desperately need this win, and they'll find a way to pull it out. Here are three reasons why the Cowboys will beat the Eagles.
3. Ground Game
The Cowboys have one of the best running attacks in the NFL. Dallas is averaging 130 yards per game, good enough for sixth in the NFL. The team is averaging 4.5 yards per carry, which is also sixth. Joseph Randle might be off the team, but that's okay. Darren McFadden had already stolen his starting job, and he's played great this season. The Eagles' ground defense is about league average, so the Cowboys should have a successful day on the ground. That will help keep the Cowboy defense off the field and make life easier on Matt Cassel.
2. Holes In Eagles' Secondary
The Eagles have done a good job of forcing turnovers this season, which is worrisome. However, they are allowing over 250 passing yards per game. That's in the bottom half of the NFL and the Eagles don't have anyone that can truly guard Dez Bryant. The Seahawks did a good job of shutting down Bryant, but he should be better in his second game back. If Cassel can just get the ball near Bryant, he should be open enough to make the play. When the Cowboys run the ball, it'll open up the play-action and allow Bryant to take advantage of an Eagle secondary that has holes.
1. Sam Bradford's Turnovers
Of all the qualifying QBs, Bradford has the worst QBR. He's been plagued by turnovers, with 10 picks (and a fumble) against nine touchdowns. The Cowboys defense has played well at times this season, and they could have a strong game this week. Bradford has thrown two or more picks in four games this season. He's thrown multiple touchdowns just once. If the Cowboys can force Bradford into mistakes and capitalize on them, they'll end their losing streak.
