The Dallas Cowboys are the hottest team in the NFL and are riding a nine-game winning streak, and now host their bitter rival Redskins on Thanksgiving. Washington has a two-game win streak of their own, but right now, the Cowboys just look unbeatable. Here are three reasons why the Cowboys will win the game:
3) Dallas' defense
The dominance of the Cowboys' defense has been one of the biggest surprises of the NFL season, but they've proven time and time again to be one of the league's best units. They rank in the top five in points allowed per game, and managed to slow top offenses like the Steelers, Bengals, Packers and Eagles. Expect them to have success again in slowing down the Redskins.
2) Explosive offense
While Kirk Cousins and Washington's offense has received its share of publicity, the Cowboys' offense is playing at an historic level. They have piled up at least 400 yards of total offense in eight consecutive games, tying New England (2007) and Denver (2013) for the longest single-season streaks in NFL history. Dallas' defense certainly gives them the edge, but if this turns into a shootout, the Cowboys are more than equipped to handle it.
1) Dak Prescott's poise
Prescott got his first career win in Week 2 over the Redskins in Washington, which started this massive win streak for Dallas. Prescott played the key role in that game, completing 22/30 passes for nearly 300 yards while routinely using his legs to make plays. Washington's defense has struggled to defend dual threat passers like that, and Prescott will give them headaches yet again.
