Wilfried Zaha's Ivory Coast future is in doubt after the Crystal Palace forward asked not to be selected for this month's 2022 World Cup qualifiers.
The 28-year-old has scored five goals in 21 appearances for the Elephants since making his debut in 2017, having switched his international allegiance from England.
But he has been left out of the Ivory Coast squad to face Mozambique and Cameroon in their final two group matches, with just the group winners progressing to next year's play-offs for the tournament in Qatar.
"A few days ago, Zaha sent me a message to say that every time he comes (to join up with Ivory Coast), he returns home sick," national team coach Patrice Beaumelle said.
