Paddy McCarthy’s Under 18 side suffered a 3-1 defeat at Barnsley on Saturday morning in the game played at The Oakwell Training Ground.
The hosts took an early advantage on just four minutes of the game as Kieran Feeney opened the scoringwhen a curling free-kick came back off the post and Feeney pounced on the loose ball to make the most of the chance as he put the ball into the net from close range.
Palace were given a chance to get back into the game from the penalty spot as the referee adjudged that Harry Gagen had fouled Tetteh-Quaye Addy, Sean Robertson made no mistake from the spot, even though the keeper went the right way.
