U18s goalkeeper Owen Goodman joined the first-team squad for training before Palace take on Aston Villa on Boxing Day.
Goodman has played five times for the U18s this season, earning an opportunity to train with the seniors.
With Premier League rule changes allowing nine substitutes for each game, there is an opportunity for Roy Hodgson to look towards the Academy and Development squads for reinforcements during the busy festive season.
Palace play twice in three days over Christmas, travelling to Villa Park on Boxing Day before hosting Leicester City on the 28th December.
