Roy Hodgson has revealed in his weekly press conference today that Palace forward Connor Wickham will not be available for selection on Sunday’s game against Chelsea due to a thigh strain.
The striker played in his first Premier League game since November 2016 against Everton two weeks ago but will again be sidelined as a challenging period of recovery has been extended by the injury.
Hodgson said, “Connor wickham has picked up a thigh strain which stopped him from taking part on Wednesday night [against Middlesbrough].
“It’s a shame and it’s disappointing because he’d been training on a regular basis and we’d been harbouring the notion that he’d be available but he isn’t.
