Sam Allardyce hit out at the Premier League for arranging seven matches on deadline day.
After Jeffrey Schlupp joined from Leicester last week, Crystal Palace were on the verge of sealing a £14million move for defender Patrick van Aanholt from Sunderland on Friday night.
Palace will be working until Tuesday's 11pm deadline to bring in fresh faces, but they play on the south coast hours before when they face Bournemouth.
And Allardyce admits he is baffled at why the Premier League have scheduled matches on such an important day.
