Sam Allardyce told Sky Sports News he was at Crystal Palace to "complete talks" with chairman Steve Parish upon his arrival at the club's training ground on Friday afternoon.
Negotiations between Palace and former West Ham and Sunderland boss Allardyce's advisors are nearing a conclusion.
Speaking from his car as he arrived at the training ground, he said: "[I'm] just here to complete talks. Talk to Steve and [if] everything goes all right, should be OK."
Palace face Watford on Boxing Day and, asked if he expected to be in charge for that game, he said: "Well, we'll wait and see.
