Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson has paid tribute to former Arsenal chairman Peter Hill-Wood in his press conference today, revealing that he knew him well and extending his sympathies to those close to him.
When asked for his reaction to the news of Hill-Wood's passing, Hodgson was reflective in his response, saying, "I met him and knew him when he was chairman of Arsenal and he always treated me with enormous courtesy, I used to enjoy the hospitality I got at Arsenal even before I became England manager.
"Strangely enough, there’s a restaurant I sometimes frequent which I know he used to go to very often and only two weeks ago I was in that restaurant and Peter was there.
