Under-23s captain Nikola Tavares reflected upon an impressive 4-0 victory for Palace over Charlton Athletic today, saying his side bounced back well from their late loss against Ipswich Town.
The defender spoke immediately after the result, saying, "[It was a] great result today. Coming off the last result we were disappointed with ourselves, so to come in today and win is great."
His team were much bolstered by the inclusion of several experienced first-team players such as Alexander Sørloth, who scored once and had one assist.
On the experience of captaining alongside more senior players, Tavares explained, "[Playing with first-team players] was really good because they understand their roles and are disciplined, so it makes your job a lot easier.
