Newcastle United have enquired about signing Chelsea defender Ethan Ampadu on loan for the 2021-2022 season.
The 20-year-old is expected to leave Stamford Bridge in the next two weeks after failing to make Thomas Tuchel’s squad for Chelsea’s opening game of the season against Crystal Palace.
Ampadu - who was part of the Wales squad that made the knockout stages of Euro 2020 - previously told Chelsea that he wanted to play 'regular football' to achieve his 'dreams'.
Therefore, according to the Northern Echo, Tuchel will be open to letting Ampadu leave on a season-long loan deal as he looks to get more first-team minutes under his belt.
