Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall scored a goal of dazzling quality as Leicester held off a second-half comeback to send Crystal Palace to their first away defeat since Boxing Day.
Moments after his outstanding pass had created the opener for Ademola Lookman, Dewsbury-Hall struck his first goal in the Premier League on the stroke of half-time to put the home side in charge.
Palace fought back midway through the second half when Wilfred Zaha headed home after his retaken penalty had been saved by Kasper Schmeichel, just as the original kick had.
Yet Palace could not find the equaliser that would have provided a springboard for next Sunday’s FA Cup semi-final against Chelsea.
