Crystal Palace Ladies fell to defeat against a visiting Durham Women on Saturday, as the hosts lost 2-0 against the third-placed visitors.
It was goals early in each half which secured the points for the Wildcats and, though Palace battled, an otherwise uneventful game meant they were cancelled out by a well-organised opponent.
Durham began the game immediately in the ascendancy, as they netted in the fourth minute thanks to Emily Roberts, who latched on to a cross mis-controlled by Lucy Gillett to bury the ball in the Eagles' net.
Gillett atoned for her earlier misfortune less than ten minutes later as Roberts broke through on goal before the Palace shot-stopper stood firmly and bravely to maintain the deadlocked scoreline.
