Hodgson Thrilled With "Good News Day"

Roy Hodgson admitted he was leaving Selhurst Park with a smile after what he dubbed a “good news day for Crystal Palace” as his side beat Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 in the FA Cup.

The Eagles boss saw his team move into round five with a commanding win against their London rivals, with goals from Connor Wickham and Andros Townsend setting them on their way to victory before Kieran Trippier missed a penalty four minutes before half-time to hand Palace a healthy cushion which they protected for the remainder of the game, with the day was capped off with Julian Speroni keeping a club record 112th clean sheet to leave Hodgson in an excellent mood.
