Hodgson Discusses Palace's Penalty Prowess

Following Luka Milivojevic's last-minute penalty conversion in Wednesday's victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers, Palace manager Roy Hodgson was asked to reflect on his side's notable ability to win and score penalties this season in his pre-Grimsby Town press conference.

The Eagles have won six and netted five penalties from just 21 matches. Last season they bagged seven from eight spot-kicks.

However, the Palace manager was cautious to look past the statistics and explain just why it is that his side have been awarded so many penalties, suggesting that perhaps they've deserved one or two more.

He said, "I wonder sometimes when people come up with these stats if they ever ask themselves the question, 'why is it that Manchester United and Crystal Palace get so many penalties?
