Granit Xhaka has vowed to improve his relationship with Arsenal fans and never leave the club until they win 'something special' together.

Gunners supporters have been critical of Xhaka for a number of years, though it was his reaction to jeers during their 2019 draw against Crystal Palace which left them furious.

While being substituted, the Swiss midfielder was subjected to boos from the home crowd after an underwhelming display, and he responded by clapping sarcastically, cupping his ear and appearing to tell them to 'f*** off'.

He was stripped of the captaincy by former boss Unai Emery as a result, and in the two-and-a-half years that have followed he has been scrutinised even further for a number of disciplinary issues and errors.
